Recognize the Signs

Are You Experiencing Any of These Symptoms?

Neck pain and migraines are often connected. Misalignment in the cervical spine can irritate nerves and restrict blood flow, triggering headaches that medication can't fully resolve. If you're living with any of these symptoms, chiropractic care can help:

Chronic neck stiffness
Tension headaches
Recurring migraines
Shoulder and upper back tightness
Pain when turning your head
Jaw tension or TMJ discomfort
Pain radiating from neck into arms

Neck pain and migraines are your body telling you something is structurally wrong. Medication masks the symptom — chiropractic care corrects the cause.

Schedule Your Evaluation

What to Expect

Your First Visit for Neck Pain

1

Consultation & History

We discuss your symptoms in detail — when they started, headache patterns, daily activities, screen time, sleep position, and previous treatments.

2

Cervical Examination & X-Rays

A thorough physical exam of your cervical spine including range of motion testing, palpation, and neurological assessment. On-site digital X-rays identify misalignment, disc issues, and structural problems.

3

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

We explain exactly what's causing your neck pain or migraines and present a clear treatment plan. You'll know how many visits to expect, what therapies we'll use, and what results are realistic.

4

Treatment Begins

Most patients receive their first adjustment on the same day. Gentle, precise cervical adjustments restore alignment and relieve nerve compression. Many patients feel relief after their very first session.

5

Ongoing Care & Prevention

We track your progress, adjust treatment as needed, and provide corrective exercises, posture guidance, and ergonomic recommendations to prevent recurrence. Our goal is lasting relief — not repeat visits for the same problem.

Common Questions

Neck Pain & Migraines FAQ

Can neck misalignment cause migraines?

Yes. Misalignment in the upper cervical spine (C1-C2 vertebrae) can irritate nerves and restrict blood flow to the brain, triggering migraines known as cervicogenic headaches. These headaches originate in the neck but are felt in the head, temples, or behind the eyes. Chiropractic adjustments that restore proper cervical alignment are one of the most effective treatments for this type of migraine.

How many chiropractic visits do I need for neck pain?

It depends on the severity and cause of your neck pain. Mild cases from muscle tension or poor posture may improve in 4-6 visits over 2-3 weeks. Chronic neck pain from structural misalignment or degenerative changes typically requires 8-12 visits over 4-6 weeks. We reassess your progress regularly and adjust the plan accordingly. Many patients feel meaningful relief after their first 2-3 visits.

What are cervicogenic headaches?

Cervicogenic headaches are headaches that originate from problems in the cervical spine (neck). Unlike migraines or tension headaches, they are caused by structural issues — misaligned vertebrae, disc problems, or tight neck muscles that refer pain upward into the head. They typically affect one side, start at the base of the skull, and worsen with certain neck movements. Chiropractic care is highly effective because it treats the cervical source directly.

Can poor posture cause chronic neck pain?

Absolutely. Forward head posture — often called "tech neck" — adds up to 60 pounds of extra stress on your cervical spine for every inch your head moves forward. Over time, this leads to muscle strain, disc compression, nerve irritation, and chronic pain. We treat the structural damage caused by poor posture and provide ergonomic guidance and corrective exercises to prevent recurrence.

Is it normal to hear cracking sounds during a neck adjustment?

Yes, this is completely normal and safe. The "cracking" or "popping" sound during a chiropractic adjustment is called cavitation — it's simply gas bubbles being released from the joint fluid as the joint is mobilized. It is not your bones cracking. The sound is harmless and often accompanied by immediate relief. If you prefer a gentler approach, we also offer low-force adjustment techniques that don't produce this sound.

What type of pillow is best for neck pain?

For most neck pain patients, we recommend a cervical contour pillow that supports the natural curve of your neck. Memory foam or latex pillows that conform to your head and neck are generally better than down or polyester fill. Side sleepers need a thicker pillow to keep the spine aligned; back sleepers need a thinner one. Avoid sleeping on your stomach, as it forces your neck into extreme rotation. We can recommend specific pillows based on your sleeping position and condition.
