On-Site Diagnostics

On-Site X-Ray Diagnostics

Digital X-ray imaging performed on-site at your first visit. No external referrals, no waiting. Results reviewed immediately so we can build an accurate treatment plan from day one.

What Are On-Site X-Rays?

See the Problem Before We Treat It

At Wilshire Center Chiropractic, we believe in diagnosing before treating. Our on-site digital X-ray system allows us to take high-resolution spinal images during your first visit — no referrals to imaging centers, no waiting days for results, and no extra appointments.

Digital X-rays reveal critical information that physical examination alone cannot detect: spinal misalignments, disc degeneration, fractures, bone spurs, joint spacing abnormalities, and structural issues that directly affect your treatment plan. Without this information, chiropractic care is essentially guesswork.

Dr. Sim or Dr. Ji reviews your X-rays with you in real-time, walking through each image and explaining exactly what they see. You'll understand your diagnosis, see the evidence, and know why specific treatments are being recommended.

For auto accident patients, on-site X-rays are especially critical. They provide immediate medical documentation of your injuries — essential for insurance claims, personal injury cases, and establishing the connection between the accident and your condition.

How It Works

Your X-Ray Process

From imaging to diagnosis to treatment plan — all in one visit.

1

Quick Digital Imaging

The X-ray process takes just 10-15 minutes. You'll be positioned for the specific views needed based on your symptoms and area of concern. Our digital system captures high-resolution images with minimal radiation exposure — up to 80% less than traditional film X-rays.

2

Immediate Analysis With Your Doctor

Your images are available instantly on screen. Dr. Sim or Dr. Ji reviews every X-ray with you, pointing out misalignments, disc issues, degenerative changes, or any other findings. You'll see exactly what's going on with your spine — no medical jargon, just clear explanations.

3

Treatment Plan Creation

Based on your X-ray findings, physical examination, and symptoms, the doctor creates a personalized treatment plan. The X-rays guide exactly which vertebrae need adjustment, whether decompression or shockwave therapy is appropriate, and how your progress will be measured over time.

What It Detects

What X-Rays Help Us Identify

X-ray imaging provides the diagnostic foundation for accurate, safe chiropractic care.

Why Wilshire Center

Why Choose Us for Diagnostic Imaging

Not every chiropractic office has on-site X-ray capability. Here's why ours matters.

Same-Visit Results

No waiting days for results from an external imaging center. Your X-rays are taken, reviewed, and discussed with you during the same visit. This means faster diagnosis, faster treatment, and fewer appointments overall.

Doctor-Reviewed, Not Just Read

Dr. Sim and Dr. Ji personally review every X-ray with you — not a technician. They explain what they see in plain language, answer your questions, and use the images to show you exactly why specific treatments are being recommended.

Critical for Auto Accident Cases

Same-day X-rays after an auto accident create essential medical documentation. These images connect your injuries to the accident, support insurance claims, and provide the diagnostic foundation for proper treatment and legal protection.

Common Questions

X-Ray Diagnostics FAQ

Are chiropractic X-rays safe? How much radiation is involved?

Yes, chiropractic X-rays are very safe. Our digital system uses up to 80% less radiation than older film-based systems. A typical spinal X-ray series exposes you to about 0.1-0.2 mSv — roughly equivalent to one to two days of natural background radiation. The diagnostic benefit far outweighs the minimal exposure.

Do I need X-rays before getting an adjustment?

We strongly recommend X-rays for new patients. They reveal misalignments, disc issues, degenerative changes, fractures, and conditions that can't be detected through examination alone. X-rays allow us to adjust your spine safely and precisely. They're especially important for auto accident patients and anyone with significant pain or numbness.

How long does it take to get X-ray results?

Results are available immediately. Our digital system produces high-resolution images within seconds. Dr. Sim or Dr. Ji reviews your X-rays with you during the same visit — pointing out findings, explaining your diagnosis, and using the images to build your treatment plan. No waiting for external results.

How much do X-rays cost?

Costs vary based on the number of views needed and your insurance coverage. Most insurance plans cover diagnostic X-rays. For auto accident patients, X-rays are typically covered under Med-Pay or PIP at no out-of-pocket cost. We offer competitive self-pay pricing and always discuss costs upfront. Call (213) 388-8820 for details.

Can I bring X-rays from another doctor?

Yes. If the images are recent (within 6-12 months) and include the views we need, we may be able to use them. Bring them on a CD, USB drive, or have your previous provider send them digitally. Dr. Sim will review them and let you know if additional imaging is needed.

What if my X-rays show something serious?

If your X-rays reveal a condition requiring care beyond chiropractic treatment — such as a tumor, surgical fracture, or significant pathology — we will refer you to the appropriate specialist immediately. We maintain relationships with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, and other specialists in LA. Your health always comes first.
